Statement of Faith

Christ Will Return Ministries

WE BELIEVE the sixty-six canonical books of the Bible as originally written to be the verbally inspired, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God. The Bible is the only infallible revelation from God to man and complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind. (II Timothy 3:15-17, I Thessalonians 2:13, II Peter 1:21) Furthermore, God has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ and in the order of creation. (Romans 1:18-20)

WE BELIEVE there is one true God, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, the Creator of the universe, and the Redeemer of mankind. He is eternally self-existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10-11, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22, John 10:30, Ephesians 4:4-6) Christ spoke on many occasions of a distinction of persons in the specific term of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 11:25-27, Luke 24:49, John 1:18)

WE BELIEVE in the deity of Christ. (John 10:30) His divine and human natures were joined in one person, both natures being whole, perfect, and distinct. Christ "made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men." (Philippians 2:5-7) He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:34-35) He lived a sinless life. (Hebrews 4:15, I Peter 2:22) He fulfilled many Old Testament prophecies and performed many miracles. (John 2:11, Acts 2:22, 10:38) His crucifixion was a vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood. (Romans 3:25, I Corinthians 15:3-8, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9) He rose victorious from the dead. (Matthew 28:6, John 11:25, I Corinthians 15:4). He ascended to the right hand of the Father (Acts 1:9-10, Mark 16:19) as our High Priest and Advocate. (I John 2:1, Hebrews 4:14-16) He will personally return to earth in power and glory to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace. (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11-16)

WE BELIEVE that in the beginning, God created the heavens and earth. It is evident that the universe has inherent design. The precision of the universe is not the result of an ancient cosmic explosion. (Genesis 1:1, Hebrews 11:3)

WE BELIEVE God directly created Adam and Eve in His own image for love and fellowship as the historical parents of mankind, distinct from all other living creatures. (Genesis 1:26) By voluntary disobedience, they fell from their righteous state through temptation by Satan. As a result, humanity entered into a state of sin and incurred both physical and spiritual death. From this condition we can be saved only by the work of Christ and the grace of God. Salvation cannot be earned by good works; it is the gift of God. (John 3:16-19; John 5:24, Romans 3:23-28, 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5) Salvation is received through repentance of sins and faith in Jesus Christ. (Luke 24:47, John 3:3, Romans 10:13-15, Ephesians 2:8)

WE BELIEVE in the sanctity of life. Every person of every race is made in the image of God. (Genesis 1:26) Life is precious and has meaning and purpose. God knows us before we are born. (Jeremiah 1:5) No individual or group can slaughter their children (even in the womb) and overrule the Judge of the universe. (Deuteronomy 18:10, Ezekiel 16:21, 20:26)

WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of eternal punishment. (I Corinthians 15:51-57, Revelation 20:11-15) A final judgment is coming in which the dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be thrown into everlasting punishment. (Matthew 25:46, Mark 9:43-48, Revelation 19:20, 21:8)

WE BELIEVE in the great commission and the ministry of the church, the body of Christ, universal and composed of various communities of the redeemed. We are to go into the whole world and preach the Gospel to every living creature, proclaiming the good news of redemption through Jesus Christ in message, song, praise, and care for those in need. (Mark 16:15-20, Matthew 25:34-41, 28:19-20) All true believers are members of the body of Christ, the church. No particular denomination has a monopoly. (I Corinthians 12:12-19, Ephesians 1:22-23, Mark 9:38-42)

WE BELIEVE the Holy Spirit indwells believers, to help them understand the Scriptures, to empower them for godly living, and to equip them for ministry. (John 3:5:16-18, Romans 8:12-14, I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20, Ephesians 5:18) The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. (John 16:8) Every believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified by being separated from sin and the world. (I John 2:15-17, Hebrews 12:14-16, I Peter 1:14-16)

WE BELIEVE in prayer. We are encouraged to pray for each other (James 5:16), pray for our enemies (Luke 6:28), pray with humility (Matthew 6:5-6), pray in the spirit (Ephesians 6:18), pray for the sick (James 5:14), and follow Christ's example of prayer (Matthew 6:9-13).

WE BELIEVE in baptism in water as directed in the New Testament as a declaration to the world that we have died with Christ and have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 10:47-48, Romans 6:4)

WE BELIEVE in Holy Communion as a remembrance of the suffering and death of Christ and a prophecy of His second coming. (I Corinthians 11:23-26)

WE BELIEVE in the blessed hope that Jesus Christ will soon return to this earth, personal, visible, and premilliennial. We look for the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ along with the translation of those who are alive and remain unto the coming of Christ. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17, Romans 8:23, Titus 2:13, I Corinthians 15:50-52)

WE BELIEVE in the millennial reign of Christ followed by the promise of a new heaven and a new earth. (Revelation 20-22, 2 Peter 3:13)
